I have a necklace that the wood or antler is slightly cracking can you recommend a good wax that won’t stain clothing. I can send a picture if you tell me how. Thanks, Carole

Hi Carole,

If you want to go top-shelf, jewelry makers use micro-crystalline wax, with the following product used by museums for polishing antique wood.
If you’re looking for a cheaper option, opt for a Carnauba wax polish, as it dries hard and resists scratching. Beeswax is lovely but softer, so it will require more frequent applications.

Be sure to buff the wax well immediately upon application and let it dry completely. Many wax products use mineral oil to make the wax softer and “spreadable,” if this isn’t allowed to evaporate, you may risk staining.
