Tru-oil?

fishrman asked 3 years ago

Do you have any experience with Tru-oil? I have used it some for knife handles and, while I like it, it doesn’t want to dry on woods like Rosewood and some of the other oily exotic woods. Do you have any recommendations on finish for knife handles made from Rosewood? Would like to find something good for kitchen knives, as well.

Hello.
Dalbergia woods (Rosewood) contain an antioxidant that will prevent the oil from curing. Use wax instead of oils, you can use this one by Interstate WoodWorks. Just rub it on, let dry then buff with a soft cloth.
