Suar Wood Carving

Armando asked 1 year ago

I have a Komodo dragon carving I think is made out of suar wood. I got it years ago and has been in storage. The carving is looking quite dull and “dry”. Which oil should I use Linseed, Tung or Teak?

Hi, Armando

I’d choose Tung Oil – Linseed is fine too. Teak oil is a blend of oils and therefore is not a ‘pure’ oil.

I like Tung Oil; it doesn’t change the underlying color but brings up the color and texture well.
