I want to refinish my kitchen table top, because I notice the finishing is raising where moisture from a bottle of milk has sat for a while.  What is my best plan of attack?  Just sand the table top and apply the General Finishes Arm-R-Seal Urethane Topcoat?  Is this finish safe for a kitchen table, and how long can we use the table once I am finished refinishing with the last coat?
Thank You,

Hi Ken,
First it is good to get rid of the old coating to be sure of a good end result. For this purpose you can use a detergent to remove the old paint like the ones shown here: https://woodimprove.com/best-wood-stain-removers/.
Or use a disc to remove old paint, but be careful not to damage the tree and of course it must be sanded to the required smoothness P220.
Yes this polish by General Finishes will do a great job, more info on it can be found on this article: https://woodimprove.com/best-finishes-for-wood-kitchen-table/.
Unfortunately, drying takes longer. It can emit an odor for up to 30 days after application.
For good things you have to try and be patient. In the end, you will have an excellent finish on your table.
