Hi
I am looking for an epoxy I can use on an outdoor bar top. The one I used bubbles up and off the bar top in direct sun light. The bar top is not in consent direct sun light but based on the time of day and year it will see a few hour of direct sun light per day. Not sure what I can do as I tried oil and water based stains and still the same issue. I did the same with polyurethane and even used shellac but still the same result. Any suggestions would be great

Hi Joe, Just be sure the bubbling is due to the sun, not the wood or preparation. You didn’t say what timber it is, so it’s hard to suggest a solution. Assuming it is just sun damage, I’d lean towards using spar urethane. It’s designed for boats and harsh sea and sun conditions; it offers great UV protection and a nice finish.
